Hello,
I'm Beth.
I'm an Associate Creative Director and Senior Writer with 15+ years of experience (maybe more?) delivering high-impact work for global brands. I bring a combo of exceptional writing talent and proven creative leadership to rally teams around wild ideas that get the people going.
I was born and raised in the backwoods of coastal Oregon. After picking up an English degree in Portland, I moved to Tokyo for a few years of blogging, writing poetry, and brooding under neon signs. In 2011 I decided to check out New York City for a few weeks, but got hooked on the hustle and stayed for six years. I started out as a writer and editor on the publishing side before moving into copywriting and creative strategy for big brand types.
Now I'm back in Portland, where you can find me writing weird stories, whittling sticks into fingers, fishing at a local river, or working on the old house I share with my husband Taka. We regularly visit Japan, and I love taking on creative and editorial projects there! Don’t hesitate to holler if you’d like to collaborate on something in Japanese, whether it’s localizing a campaign, translating some copy, or bigger and dreamier ventures.
